Having started his career in 1987 in management consultancy at DIP Advisory Services and thereafter Ernst & Young, in 1992 he founded his own company: S&V Management Consultants, specialized in Supply Chain and Operations Strategy. He grew the company to about 100 people, working with senior management of medium and large international companies in Europe and beyond. In 2004, S&V embarked successfully on an internal CSR journey under his guidance. At that time, Steven was also board member of Managers without Frontiers. In 2008 he sold S&V to Mahindra Satyam, an Indian ICT company, staying on as CEO until successfully re-selling the company to PwC in 2011.

In this capacity he focussed on how cso’s (citizen sector organizations) and corporations could work together successfully in creating social impact at scale in a commercially viable, win-win setting. Late 2012, he joined Ashoka Europe as member of the Strategic Advisory board of Ashoka’s Co-Creation platform in Paris in order to further deploy this co-creation strategy in Europe.

In March 2013, Steven also joined SI², a for profit social impact fund, both as an investor and board member. In addition, he is a board member of I-Propeller (www.i-propeller.com). In this capacity he helps the executive management team to grow their consulting business, advising companies how to create ‘shared value’ and define impact strategies.

He recently joined Trusted Family (www.trustedfamily.net) as board member and vice-chairman. Trusted Family increases the cohesion within affluent, large families by providing a communication and education platform. Steven is regularly invited as conference chairman and keynote speaker at international conferences and is (co-) author of numerous internationally published articles.
